Whitewater Adventures

Whether you kayak, raft, or canoe white water rapids there's plenty of rivers in British Columbia to find thrilling adventure.
Tatshenshini River (Northwest BC) One of the 7 best white-water rafting and kayaking trips in the world, the river is powerful and the wildlife is plentiful.
Stikine River: (Northwest BC) has Canada's Grand Canyon. Most trips are from Tauton Lake to the canyon which takes about 2 weeks.
Cheakamus River: near Squamish is a good weekend adventure for rafting or kayaking.
Squamish River: a day trip from Vancouver and one of the best in the Mainland.
Chilliwack River: in the Cascade mountains with wilderness camping and continuous white water.
Chehalis River: has rapid white water that is sometimes dangerous, especially in spring. North from Harrison Mills, via logging roads.
Fraser and Thompson Rivers: both have many exciting sections for kayakers and rafters.
VANCOUVER ISLAND
Cowichan River, Nanaimo River, Gold River are recommended for the intermediate, or a novice with a guide.
OCEAN SURFING
Sunshine Coast: Shookumchuck Narrows.
West Coast: Long Beach, River Jordan, Wickaninnish Beach (rated novice).
